Literacy is the key to success for students across the curriculum.
We believe that all students can achieve high standards in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. At Ballarat North Primary School, focussed teaching, along with high expectations for all students, has a significant impact on student achievement. Teachers assess and monitor students throughout the year to identify each student’s needs and plan for literacy teaching and learning accordingly.
Students from Prep to Grade 6 are involved in a daily structured literacy block, which includes a wide variety of engaging experiences to scaffold achievement in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. Technology is an integral part of literacy, with students actively involved in using iPads and computers in both the reading and writing processes.

Ballarat North Primary School acknowledges the Wadawurrung People as the traditional custodians of the land upon which our school sits. We pay our respects to all Aboriginal people, their culture and their elders: past, present, future and emerging.
