Student Leadership

At our school, we provide a range of student leadership opportunities.

We have high expectations of all students and believe all senior students have the ability to be excellent role models displaying our school values to a high level.

School Captains

Each year, four Grade 6 students are elected as our school captains. These students have a very important role within the school and are well respected by the student community. Each week our school captains are responsible for leading our whole school assembly. They are also actively involved in conducting school tours, talking at parent information sessions, hosting our biennial school concert and representing our school at important functions.

House Captains

Our school is organised into four House teams - Forster (green), Hender (red), Dudley (blue) and Atkins (yellow). House captains and vice captains are elected each year and play a key role in the organisation of our annual school sports which involves leading training sessions, assisting with events and providing encouragement and support to younger students.

Junior School Council

The Junior School Council (JSC) is made up of one student representative from each of the Grades 3-6 classes. This group provides an important voice for students, where they are able to contribute towards decisions and make recommendations for improvements to our school. Throughout the year, the Junior School Council conducts a number of fundraising events to raise money for charitable organisations and for our school.

Ballarat North Primary School acknowledges the Wadawurrung People as the traditional custodians of the land upon which our school sits.
We pay our respects to all Aboriginal people, their culture and their elders: past, present, future and emerging.
