Physical Education

The Physical Education program aims to provide a positive experience for all students encouraging them to be physically active, as well as gaining an understanding of the importance of overall health.

The program provides opportunities for students to develop the skills required to participate in the majority of sports they may pursue outside of school.

Starting in the junior levels, there is a strong focus on the fundamental motor skills, which are the foundation for all sports. As students progress into the senior school, these skills are then concentrated into more sport specific skills and game understanding.  As well as major game skills, students also learn gymnastics, bike education and have various community sport training experiences such as futsal, AFL, cricket, lawn bowls, badminton and swimming.

Ballarat North Primary School acknowledges the Wadawurrung People as the traditional custodians of the land upon which our school sits.
We pay our respects to all Aboriginal people, their culture and their elders: past, present, future and emerging.
